The UK mutual was praised for its supportive culture, colleague wellbeing initiatives and flexible working
Scottish Friendly has been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Big Places to Work in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 list.
The UK mutual was included in the prestigious list of top UK employers following strong results in its 2026 employee engagement survey, delivered in partnership with workplace insights specialist WorkL.
The annual list celebrates organisations with the highest levels of employee experience and wellbeing, recognising excellence across areas including reward and recognition, empowerment, wellbeing, job satisfaction and pride.
It also highlights employers that create inclusive workplaces for women, LGBTQIA+ colleagues, disabled employees, ethnic minorities, and workers across all age groups. An employee run group at Scottish Friendly celebrates meaningful dates for diverse cultures.
The list also mentioned Scottish Friendly’s colleague benefits include flexible working, no weekend or evening shifts, a good pension scheme and access to private healthcare.
Stephen McGee, Chief Executive Officer at Scottish Friendly, said:
“Being recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 is a proud moment, and I’m especially pleased that this reflects the culture we’ve built at Scottish Friendly; one where colleagues feel valued, empowered and inspired to make a difference for our customers and each other.”
